Year 9 (age 13 - 14)

Year 9 pupils are split into two classes:  Year 9 Girls, and Year 9 Boys.
Pupils in the Year 9 classes are completing KS3 and preparing to begin their GCSEs.  They are studying core material, refining their skills and in some cases, may be beginning coursework which will contribute to their GCSEs.

Daily studies are embedded with Islamic teachings and morals and all teaching resources are taught from an Islamic perspective.  Pupils are regularly assessed to ensure they are achieving the necessary skills to succeed.

Religious Education is delivered from an Islamic perspective. Topics include:

  • Biography of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)
  • Explanation of the Quran
  • Islamic Beliefs
  • Islamic Etiquettes
  • Islamic History
  • Islamic Jurisprudence
  • Islamic Stories
  • Oral Traditions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
  • Stories of the Prophets
Children are also taught reading and memorisation of the Qur'an, and to understand the meaning.

Information Technology is integrated across the curriculum
